Moo-Duck is a little beyond that area. Like you, I've never had any problems parking downtown. The only time that it was really inconvenient was during the Taste of Northwestern Lancaster County when half the town was trying to get to the library. My wife and I ended up parking at the community center.Jeff McCloudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15037934095045982855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643059131542878847.post-71847277509155281332016-08-15T21:21:13.079-04:002016-08-15T21:21:13.079-04:00Jeff, If you wanted to fill a growler with "l...Jeff, If you wanted to fill a growler with "local craft beer" that is actually brewed in Etown, you could drive on down to Moo-Duck Brewery where parking is always free and available!! It's that the lots are hidden - visitors and new residents have a hard time locating those "tucked away" spaces. And that the meters are inconsistent - some take nickels, some take dimes, some take quarters and they each have different time limits.Thependragonseyehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13135077973168579373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643059131542878847.post-81886553755850151362015-11-03T12:17:26.161-05:002015-11-03T12:17:26.161-05:00I am happy to see another business opening in Eliz...I am happy to see another business opening in Elizabethtown. As a long time resident, 30+ years, it was always puzzling that E-town did not have a more vibrant downtown. With the Masonic homes and Elizabethtown College, there is plenty of "cash" to support the downtown area. Not to mention that we are central to the Mt. Joy, Middletown, Hummelstown, and Hershey area. With all it has going for it, E-town downtown should be thriving, but it is not. It is difficult to pinpoint a reason, but the downtown area does not look inviting as the buildings are run down and unless you want a haircut or to buy insurance there is not much to bring foot traffic, this is a positive start.Johnnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643059131542878847.post-45377674732403409272015-08-12T16:04:11.936-04:002015-08-12T16:04:11.936-04:00Thanks! I don't know why the school district has decided to keep the track closed, although I suspect they worry about vandalism. Since the track is the school district's property, the borough itself doesn't have any say on when it's open. I'd take the issue up with the school board.
Jeff McCloudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15037934095045982855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643059131542878847.post-40466077994297612922015-08-03T15:43:42.477-04:002015-08-03T15:43:42.477-04:00Jeff,

Recently I have encountered other runners who have expressed disappointment that the E-town High School track is not available at all to residents. I verified that recently with the SD Athletics Dept. I would have to add my dismay to the others. Can you share any insight as to why this is the case? In al the places I have lived and run, the school district tracks were always available to the public with limitations/rules of use. Too confusing with what we are trying to teach the kids. We encountered two problems with that. First was the weather, which was a problem last year (and in years past). Which leads to the second problem: If the parade on Dec. 6 is canceled, the most likely rain date is a week later. And since Santa is supposed to arrive with the parade, we're already two weeks into the Christmas season by then. It sort of loses its oomph, in my opinion.

After Borough Council was done walking in the parade, I circled back and joined my family with some friends. All of them told me they appreciated having the parade today because it gets people into the holiday spirit. My point in relaying this is, some people like it. Some people don't. And for those of us in borough government, there's the rub: You can't please everyone all the time.Jeff McCloudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15037934095045982855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643059131542878847.post-83018494874486624132014-11-22T13:56:36.362-05:002014-11-22T13:56:36.362-05:00Call me traditional, but I prefer the parade on t...Call me traditional, but I prefer the parade on the first Friday of December like it had been for years. I looked into purchasing the mini-golf course only to find out that the property did not meet storm water drainage requirements. That the golf course water was run off the movie theater with a private meter. Mt. Joy Township was of the opinion the golf course didn't have water. Not sure how they opened. And almost half of the course was built across a property line. Requiring either a rent agreement for the land and parking or purchasing the adjoining property at an inflated price. Needless to say I walked. I have seen the golf course look's like it may be for sale again. Maybe Room One will see it as a good addition to the property they already have and can make a go of it.Brian Mummauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10714627463388516019noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643059131542878847.post-12101858930470856012014-04-02T17:01:08.876-04:002014-04-02T17:01:08.876-04:00I am also happy to see this investment but hope th...I am also happy to see this investment but hope that the new owners will be community minded and not just take revenue from us.
John Martinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643059131542878847.post-23234227418282417242014-04-02T11:41:57.347-04:002014-04-02T11:41:57.347-04:00I am almost as excited about the parking lot as I ...I am almost as excited about the parking lot as I am about the improvements inside.
